Hi I'm Viv, are you ready to train with me?

It was July 2010 when it really dawned on me how much I had let go of myself! So I joined a gym and with the help of my trainer, I lost over 4 stone; halved my body fat; dropped 5 dress sizes, and became a trainer.

Whilst fat loss is currently my main speciality, it's not the only thing I can help you with. Whether you're training for an event, Army fitness test, want to bulk up or add definition to your muscles, improve your health or simply if you just want someone to train with or add more activity to your life, I can help!

I understand how tough it can be to get fitness into your day around work, family and other commitments, trust me, I've come through them myself. I'll help you to fit your training into your day, avoiding as much disruption to you and your family as possible.

I will also help with your nutrition, giving you guidance and advice on what to eat (and of course, what not to eat) in order to help you to reach your goals, and to maintain those results once you've achieved your target.

One of the key factors of living a healthy lifestyle is having the right nutrition. Making the right choices and sourcing the correct foods makes a huge difference to your health and well-being.

There are many myths surrounding food; what's good, what's bad, so-called low fat food, I could go on forever! I can give you clear information that will help you to choose the right foods for you, your health and your fitness goals.

Healthy Eating For Life

A calorie is not a calorie, well, of course, it is! But more importantly, it's about where that calorie comes from, and what it's going to do in your body. Is it going to help you, or hinder you? Think about it, 500 calories of chocolate will do much less good for you than 500 calories of vegetables will.

Giving your body the right foods helps to ensure that it runs effectively. Think of food as fuel, you can't run a car without petrol (other fuel types available), you also can't run a car on fake fuel and expect it to run efficiently! You have to give it what it needs to run properly, your body is the same. We weren't designed to run on processed foods and chemicals, we were designed to run on food that has either grown from the ground, or lived once!

Whilst fat-loss is my main speciality, I can help with any aspect of your training needs. Whether it's fat- loss, strength and conditioning or your first 5k!

We will work together to build your fitness plan, taking into account your current fitness level, your commitments and your goals!

You can book as many sessions with me as you like, to be taken at a frequency to suit you! If you would like to see me daily, we'll get together daily for your workouts. If you would like to see me once a week and workout at home for the rest of the week, then I can give you a training programme to follow on your own, or to follow at a gym if you have a membership.

All exercises will be appropriate to your ability, and if you're unhappy with anything, it can be changed to suit you!

As a species, we're designed to move around and be active. Moving around literally helps the body to work properly. From bowel movements to hormonal activity, they all work better when we're active, and they all slow down when we're sedentary.

With a friendly, relaxed training partner, you're more likely to succeed, no matter what your goal. We'll reach your targets together, in a safe and healthy way that you can trust!

Group Ride 45 is a high energy, low impact workout. Great for increasing metabollic rate, burning fat and building lean muscle. Open to all fitness levels, as the exercise can be adapted to suit anyone.

Classes take place in Pure Gym York, and are available to members only at an additional cost of £3 per class.

On average during a class you can burn 500 calories, even at challenging levels, other forms of cardio exercise won't burn near that level of calories in the same time.

The benefits of Group Exercise

There are many benefits of Group Exercise, bring along a friend, meaning you're more likely to stick to your new healthier lifestyle, bonding with others in the group will help you to feel more confident about your exercise, again, meaning you're more likely to stick to your new regime!
